Lockdown

So far in lockdown I have been doing 2 of my favorite hobbies which are drawing and basketball I am enjoying lockdown a bit and I'm doing some cool jump jams with my brothers. I love challenging myself on the math games websites.

 

Play, Make, Create

 

Today we did Play, Make, Create, the book was We are all Equal I worked with Cohen we worked well and finished our creation if I could add anything I would use hot glue. We created an Elevator for the Panda to reach the high bamboo. everything worked well and I think we did a supernova. the hardest part was making the elevator and the tree because it kept breaking on us.

This Monday we did play, make, create and I made a backpack with Six items that I would take to survive in the outdoors I picked a campus, water bottle, a map, knife, tent, and a torch and then we colored the outside of the bag lastly we stapled them together and we could open it and close it, and I enjoyed this a lot. I think I did a Supernova.

Tower challenge

This the Tower challenge I worked with Desmond, Ryan, and Kurt we all worked well, the one thing I would go back and fix the base of the structure and make the poles more skinny, and not use as much tape and take off a bit of the weight

 The name of the book Theodore the unsure.

I created a tool for Theodore for his hair and it is like a little barber kit with a lot of tools. The activity was to make a tool for Theodore. I worked with Danny and Desmond everything went as plan if I had more time I would properly add another item.

Play, make, create Be you!

 The title of the book was Be you! I did an adventurous task and I made a treasure chest and inside is a map and coins. I worked by myself and everything went as my plan. I didn't change anything If I could change something I would give it more detail and color.

Term 2, Week 1 2021

 

During Term 1 we have been practicing our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online program called NumBots.  At the start, it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on  Silver level of NumBots.  

I enjoy NumBots because there is a choice of challenges and story I love earning coins and moving up in the story I have learned quite a bit and improving each week.

What I find challenging is subtracting. I am a lot better at pulsing than takeaway. It is getting harder as I get closer to completing the story.

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online program which helps us to learn our timetables.

I think that TTRockstars is really fun. We played it last year and when I recently played this year I realized I had slipped back in time. You have to answer timetables up to 12x12.

The title of the story was up the river and it was a story about teamwork.

I worked with Desmond and we made a boat new design that can go in and out of the water.

If I could change something I would make the flag bigger.

Whetu Fun Day

 Whetu Fun Day

Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.

My favorite part of the Amazing Race was running around Ngatea and stopping at places and doing challenges like throwing basketballs and solving puzzles and reading the codes of the eggs that we had to find. I worked with Desmond, Danny, Noah, kain, Brooklyn, and Todd 

The rotation I enjoyed the most was p.e games in the event center we got into groups and there were cones laid out everywhere and we had to pick up cones and under the cones are bean bags that are different colors and your team has a set of color that you have to collect. 

During the Easter Egg Hunt, I found my stick by the tree next to the track.at first, I was looking in the middle of the field but then I went to the tree and then traded it in for an easter egg and then an ice block.

 Desmond and I built a big tent out of Clicko and we made a BBQ but we don't have a photo it was really hard to make but we managed it we had one big tent and then a little tunnel to another room we had a long time to finish and we did it. it was hard trying to get the bits to connect it was easy finding all the pieces.

Maths mystery

This maths mystery I worked on with Desmond and we think we got the culprit right this maths mystery  was kinda hard our answer was Mollie this was fun the answers gave a big clue.

This is a  photo of my play make crate, it is a tool that can help other animals reach the leaves on the tree, it is a spring in the box that shoots up I worked with  Desmond and it was really fun it took a while but we did it.

 

Literacy

 

This is a drawing of the 4 ducks about to shot the Gregg family. I had fun drawing this and my thoughts on the story are that it was definitely interesting entering a cool story. I think the story is trying to tell that you really don't want to get the magic finger on you.

Hockey big day out

 On hockey big day out I felt nervous a little bit at the start but when I was playing I felt fine 

I enjoyed playing with different people and scoring goals. I played 10 games. I versed ngatea 

teams and other schools. There were some black sticks there and I got my stick signed by 

them. I had a lot of fun playing hockey.

 This is my creation of a car for the mouse from the story Gruffalo. first I made a plan and got all my bits and bobs together and started building it I mostly used hot glue to put everything together. Next, I made a bridge and put the water under it. I worked by myself  

the easy part was doing the bridge 

and the water the hardest part 

was gluing everything together 

this task was fun.

Week 5, Term 1, 2021

 Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I did give it a go Backstroke and Breaststroke. I also competed in the one-length freestyle champs I had fun at swimming sports and was tired at the end.  

We had two art sessions this week and I am in Mrs mac's group and so far we have practiced drawing eyes in our first season. In the next one, we cut out triangles of material and paper. 

In literacy this week we have been reading the story tilted The magic finger we read a bit and then do a task like a Summariser or a Predictor they are the two that we have done so far.

Part of our maths program is NumBots and I think I am going good and I'm am on stage Tungsten If I don't get three stars I redo it. This program is really fun.

Whetu Challenge

 This is a photo of my group and our enclosure first we found a box cut holes to thread some string through and then pulled it and it opened.

 Next, we made a sunroof to brighten up the place and filled it with grass rocks and sticks.

The people I worked with were Desmond and Johan.

The hardest part was finding all the parts like sticks, rocks, and grass.

  

Week 4, Term 1, 2021

 The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is Takaro and playing games outside with the class.I have also enjoyed our new learning program Numbots.

We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Miss Mac. Our art is going to be A background of types of papers like newspaper, scrap paper, and colored paper. The next part of it is to pick an animal's eyes and draw and color them.

We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look Amazing, I created my star with my dad. We first cut out all our pictures of our family and then glue them and stick them on.

Next week we have our school swimming sports. I am feeling a little nervous and confident I am competing in breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke.
